Liem and Wrappie

Liem has a favourite bed friend called Wrappie. Wrappie is a piece of muslin cloth that we used to wrap Liem with when he was a baby to put him to sleep. Liem's much too big to be wrapped up now, but he still likes to have Wrappie with him in bed. As far as I can tell (from what Liem tells me), Wrappie is a baby girl and has to be fed, she also likes kisses and cuddles. Wrappie also has opinions...

Liem (after his bath while being slathered with cream by Mummy): Cream retects my skin.
Mummy: Not REtects, PROtects.
L: Protests.
M: Not proTESTS, proTECTS.
L: Wrappie says retects.
M: Well, Wrappie is not the boss.
L: Wrappie is getting naughty, isn't she?
M: Yes, she is.
L (while getting into bed): Wrappie, it's protests not retects.
M: ProTECTS! ProTECTS!!

Train of thought

Liem: M-O-O is moo, L-O-O is loo, P-O-O is poo. How do you spell BUM?

Another party!

This time it was another little boy's party. Liem had fun playing with someone else's toys and had a piece of red cake that gave him a really red tongue!

Shared 4th birthday party

Liem also had a shared birthday party with the rest of the kids from my mothers group. He was very shy at first and clung to me for about 20 minutes but then decided he wanted to go on the slide. After a few goes, he loosened up and jumped with the other kids on the trampoline. He also patted a few chickens, fed the goats but didn't go for a ride on the pony. Oh well... He had some lovely farm cake too. One of the other girls insisted that it was HER cake. Liem very firmly told her, "My MUMMY said it's a SHARED cake". He also had two goes at hitting the pinata but none of the kids managed to break it so in the end, they tore it apart. Liem had so much fun, he didn't want to go home. Ah well, that's always the way...

Is it a mop? Or vacuum? Or boom gate?

I love it how Liem's imagination has really taken off....he can "make" things to play with now. With this cardboard roll and a soft toy (inside part of a set of different size rings) he made first a mop, then a vacuum cleaner and then a boom gate...

Worn out socks

These socks have really had it...

4 years old already!

Liem is 4 already! Time really flies. He was already talking about his birthday party months ago. "Who will come to my birthday party?" he asked...again and again. He did have a small party and we all had a great time. Liem chose his own birthday cake and it was a yummy chocolate mud cake. We gave him a bike for his birthday but by far the best thing he got for his birthday, in his opinion, were these 2 badges that proclaimed he was four! He wore them with pride and pointed them out to complete strangers while we were out grocery shopping. Oh, and I'm not sure where or who he learnt that fake smile from...
