Of illnesses and such

About two weeks ago, I came down with a virus. Bad nausea, loss of appetite and tiredness (no, I don't have "happy news", it was a virus I tell you). Few days rest and I was ok. Liem was fine. "Haha", I crowed, "I broke the cycle of infection". Ten days later, a baby at day care started vomitting. The day after that, Liem vomitted too. Two days after that, the day care lady went down hard. So much for breaking the cycle of infection...it just comes back by other routes...

Liem was better after a couple of days but continued to complain about a pain low in his belly. "We'll wait and see how you feel tomorrow", I say to Liem. The next day, he was still complaining about the pain even though he was very chirpy and looked perfectly well. "Are you sure it's still painful?" (Inside thinking, are you making this up?) Yes, still painful. So off we go to the doctor. While waiting for the doctor, Liem announces, "I'm better now". Grrr... Anyway, since we were there, we saw the doctor. Liem giggles and chuckles while the doctor is pressing his tummy. Doctor says, not appendicitis, but could be urinary tract infection, here's a bottle, collect his urine in it. Lovely, I think. We try....but nothing comes out because "My pee pee is closed". A while later, we try again. I know we'll get something this time because Liem is running to the toilet and doing a little dance while getting his pants off. And we do get a sample in the bottle, in fact the bottle overflows...and there's wee on mummy's hand, on mummy's pants, on Liem's legs and on the toilet seat... Ah well, nothing we haven't dealt with before...

Here is the cheeky little monkey wearing his underpants outside his shorts....

Falling out of bed

Big THUMP in the night...
Liem crying...
Liem found on the floor with his bed fence quite far out from the bed. On questioning, Liem said, "I was fweeping between the bed and the fence". Somehow he must have worked the fence further and further from the bed until the gap was big enough for him to fall through. Only Mr Liem would be talented enough to fall off the bed even with a fence on...

Fweep

"I want to fweep for a wong wong time", says Liem, when it's time for his afternoon nap. I blink in surprise. This is a change... Usually it's "I not tired! I not tired!". How long will this last?
