Sailing from Manly to Taronga

Thanks to Chris and Mai Linh, we were given an opportunity to sail on their boat the Wasabi from Manly to Taronga Zoo. It was a beautiful day and we saw quite a few dolphins at Manly. The kids also enjoyed the zoo, especially the semi-tame lizards sun-tanning themselves on the paths.

Whale watching

We also went whale watching a while back. Liem and I were both badly seasick on this trip. It may have been because we were sitting in the covered section on the lower deck where almost everyone was seasick. Anyway, Khiem had a great time and got lots of good photos. Don't think we're doing this again...

Patched pants

I have just recently patched up a giant hole in the knee of Liem's favourite pair of pants. However it's been unseasonably warm and by the time it gets cold enough for Liem to wear pants again, he might have outgrown them. I tell Liem this and he tells me, "Oh yeah, they are getting a bit small. Could you maybe extend the bottoms?"

Spelling bee regional final

Liem got into the regional final of the spelling bee competition again this year. He did better this year than last year in that he got into the 5th round whereas last year he got to the 4th round. The word "enzyme" did him in. Not the easiest word to spell...

Baby Oscar

We visited baby Oscar while he was only 2 weeks old. He spent most of the time sleeping and drinking, as babies of that age do. We're looking forward to seeing him again soon. Oh, and it won't be long before Liem is as tall as Aunty Siu Chyn!
