Finally! A family photo!

Loves the pool

Liem loves the water at the moment and he really loves my godparents' pool. Have signed him up for lessons - basic water safety course. We'll see how he copes.

Scooter

Liem got a scooter for Christmas and he's gradually getting better at balancing on it. Daddy finds it great fun too!

Baby Christian again

It was good to see baby Christian again. And catch up with the rest of the family, of course!

Liem's first sail

Liem went for his first sail during our last trip to Torquay. He'd been watching his cousins go out but not wanting to go himself, then suddenly he decided that he DID want to go. Aunty Mai popped him into a wetsuit and life jacket and off they went with another friend Charlie and Charlie's mum Libby. Not a backward glance at his poor mother left behind on the beach.

Resistance is futile

We had a no-gun policy... Then this little water gun came out of a Christmas cracker!!! Liem pounced on it and had great fun playing with it especially in the bath. Surprisingly, he decided to leave it behind at Grandma's when it was time for us to go home...

Ice cream

Liem used to complain that ice cream was "freezing" and "too cold". It's very different now....he LOVES ice cream these days...

Thorn amongst the roses

Liem had a great time at Grace's birthday party. Somehow he ended up being the thorn amongst 7 roses...

Toy Story 2

Liem got Woody and Buzz Lightyear toys for Christmas. As he hadn't watched any of the Toy Story movies before, we borrowed the dvds from his cousins and proceeded to watch them. Toy Story was ok - a bit scary in parts but Liem coped. Then came Toy Story 2...

It opens in the Gamma Quadrant where Buzz Lightyear lands on a supposedly empty planet only to find himself confronted by thousands of aliens aiming guns at him. He shoots them all then escapes into a tunnel but the door behind him slams shut. Then a wall of spikes heads towards him.

Liem starts to make scared noises.

The door in front of Buzz Lightyear starts to close.

Buzz Lightyear dives through the closing door just as it shuts.

Mummy: It's okay, Liem. See? He makes it.

Buzz Lightyear's body is blasted to bits by the evil Admiral Zurg. Two smoking legs left behind.

Mummy: Errr....
Liem: AUGH! I don't want to watch this anymore!
We tried to tell him that it was all just a video game that Rex the Dinosaur was playing, but he was not having any. We had to turn the dvd off. Poor Liem...

Liem being helpful

We are busy packing our suitcases to head home after spending Christmas with Liem's grandparents. Then we hear Liem say, "I wanted to pull my suitcase to your room but everything fell out". Mummy finds clothes and toys that had been packed nicely in his suitcase now strewn on the floor. Mummy sighs, "Why didn't you zip your suitcase before you pulled it?"
