Bbq at Greythorn Park

We had a lovely bbq at Greythorn Park. Thank you May Ching, for organising it. Here are some family photos we took at the end. Liem is making faces in every single photo!

Healesville Sanctuary

We also visited Healesville Sanctuary while we were in Melbourne. And the best part of the whole experience were the volunteers there! They gave Liem meal worms to feed the birds with, also carrots and corn to feed the wallabies. They chatted with us about the birds and animals. The bird show was also very good, similar to the one we saw at Taronga Zoo and certainly not to be missed. Liem loved the clever long-billed corella that could "talk". It said, "hi", "yeah" and growled like a tiger.

On the way home I suddenly realise that Liem didn't wash his hands after touching the meal worms and the wallabies and he'd had his sandwich using his hands and he'd also held MY hands! EEEK!

Fishing at the Rainbow Trout Farm

We went to the Rainbow Trout Farm at Macclesfield and tried the "lightly stocked lake" first. Here we are casting our lines and then waiting and waiting.

I have very little patience and go for a walk around the lake. Find some beautiful water lilies to photograph. The lake is beautiful and tranquil.

When the kids get restless, we move to the ponds stocked with rainbow trout and suddenly are catching fish. The kids are all excited (the adults are too!). We have to get help to get the hooks out some of the fish and thank goodness someone else cleans the fish for us. And the fish were delicious! Rainbow trout is now my favourite fish.

Oh, how he suffers

We went for a walk to Elwood Beach while we were in Melbourne. Poor Liem suffered terribly….nothing to do except walk, no electronic devices to play with, suddenly he was very tired and had to lie down.
