Liem can read!

It's been an exciting time for us. We've enrolled Liem in school for next year. Can't believe that he's going to school already!!! He's quite excited about it already...

And Liem can read! For this, we credit the ABC Reading Eggs web program which was recommended by one of the girls in my mother's group. It has really made learning very interesting for Liem. He loves doing the lessons. We also got him some Rascal books by Paul Jennings which were recommended by Grandma. Very simple words but interesting stories which made Liem WANT to read so he did. It's been amazing watching him put it together. He's started reading words all around him now....it's like a whole new world opened up for him. When we were out shopping, he read "The Chicken Shop". At home, he read "Fire Blanket" and "The Tap Doctor". I remember doing this when I was a child but certainly not before I started school.

So, what are they going to teach him at school?

My Mother's Day present

This year I received this as a Mother's Day present and I have to say that I love it!

Liem, Grace and Lachlan

Liem used to be very shy with Grace, but now they get on like a house on fire. It's been great seeing how well they play together. Grace's brother Lachlan likes to play with whatever the older ones are playing with, even the bike!!!

What chivalry?

We are getting ready to go to day care.

Mummy: I'll just go to toilet and then we can go.
Liem: I'll go first!!! (Rushes past Mummny down the corridor to the toilet).
M: Where's your chivalry?
L: What?
M: Chivalry is when you let girls go first.
L: No, you take too long...
