The King of the Race

Liem has come a long way from the days of "Lightning McQantas". He has watched the movie Cars several times already, he has a Lightning McQueen game, he has Lightning McQueen stationery, he has Lightning McQueen pajamas, shirt, jumper, he has not one but THREE Lightning McQueen toy cars. We have also read him the story many times. So we all know now that the red car is rookie Lightning McQueen, the blue car is long time champion The King and the green car is Chick Hicks who always comes in second and always plays dirty. Liem thinks he's got it all figured out. Take this discussion at breakfast the other day:
Liem: The King is the king of the race because the name King is after The.
Mummy: Errr....
Liem: And Lightning McQueen is the QUEEN of the race!!
Mummy: !!!

Liem: Why is it called a parka? Is it because we wear it in the park?

Going camping

This is a picture of us going camping.

The Potato-shaped family

Liem has started drawing pictures of his family. We all have potato-shaped bodies. In the top picture he tells me that he forgot to draw the tummy for the first figure. Then he has Grandpa, Grandma, Ah Kong, Ah Por, Daddy, Mummy and Liem (the last few being gradually squeezed into the available space).

The middle picture is of Daddy, Mummy and Liem (I'm the tall one).

The bottom picture is another attempt at drawing Liem's family (this time all with tummies).

Artwork

Sometimes Liem comes home from day care with the most amazing artwork. Until you realise that ALL the children go home with EXACTLY the SAME artwork. Take for example this lovely green and red caterpillar. Liem came home with the exact same caterpillar TWO DAYS IN A ROW!!!
