Trip to Kuala Selangor
We went for a day trip to Kuala Selangor - and saw lots of wild animals even though we didn't go to the nature park. At Bukit Melawati we saw silver langur monkeys which are grey in colour but the baby monkeys are bright orange! At lunch, we spotted otters in the river! Didn't even know there were otters in Malaysia. These are very likely the smooth-coated otters (no photo unfortunately). Then we took an eagle-feeding boat tour where we were taken to the mouth of the river and the driver of the boat threw chicken pieces into the water. Lots of terns which we think are Aleutian terns flew around us to get some of the food. Then the raptors turned up! Most are brahminy kites (but I haven't got a good picture) and at one time we counted 15 raptors circling above us. Then the driver pointed out these white-bellied sea-eagles which we also see on the Woronora when we go paddling. Very exciting day for us. In the words of Big Shawn, it was AWESOME!
